Proposed new homes at Greatness Lane, Sevenoaks
We are planning to regenerate the current Abacus warehouse and surrounding garages to create much needed affordable homes within the Sevenoaks community.
The project will provide 26 new homes for local people. We aim to submit a planning application later this year and to start on site beginning of 2027. New homes will be ready by the end of 2028.

The development will be a mix of flats and family homes. They will use energy-saving materials and sustainable building methods; having the the most energy-efficient rating to make sure they are low cost to run for the new residents and good for the environment and future generations.
We’re working closely with the community to make sure our proposals reflect what matters most to you. This regeneration project is about creating high-quality, affordable homes and improving the area for everyone who lives here.
How the local community influenced the design of Greatness Lane
We hosted two public consultation events in 2025, one in September and one in December, at the Sevenoaks Scout Hut on Mill Lane, giving local residents the opportunity to see our plans, speak with our development team, and give feedback on our proposal.
Accessibility - Local residents asked for open, accessible routes and better support for those with mobility needs, which led to step‑free access, ramps, wider doorways and lift‑served apartments and homes being included in our plans, ensuring we meet national accessibility standards.
Design - Residents also highlighted the importance of using red and buff brick, ragstone and references to local mill buildings, which will be reflected through a mix of materials on the outside of homes that reflect local buildings, natural tones and the addition of weatherboarding inspired by Mill Lane. A refreshed, cohesive streetscape with brighter colours, consistency in doors and windows, and more greenery was also requested. All of this feedback has now been incorporated into our designs.
Environment - Outdoor space was another priority. The community asked for calm, safe areas with clear sightlines, places to sit, and planting that supports wildlife. As a result, Greatness Lane will have a central community garden, woodland‑inspired planting, pollinator‑friendly species, natural surveillance, and carefully positioned seating and lighting. There will also be sustainable features such as solar panels, rain gardens, electric vehicle (EV) charging and habitat creation features like bird boxes to encourage wildlife and promote
biodiversity.
