and pro-actively with the survivor to offer support

This policy sets out how West Kent will take steps to assist and support any person experiencing or threatened with domestic abuse.

What we do

  • Provide a safe and confidential service for victims.
  • Work with police and specialist agencies.
  • Take action against perpetrators where possible.
  • Offer emergency measures, including locks and security upgrades.

Your responsibilities

  • Report concerns about domestic abuse immediately.
  • Cooperate with investigations if needed.
  • Keep us informed if your circumstances change.

What we don’t tolerate

  • Any form of abuse - physical, emotional, sexual, financial or coercive control.
  • Behaviour that puts others at risk.

How we support you

  • Confidential advice and referrals to specialist services.
  • Help with safety planning and emergency accommodation if required.
  • Priority transfers in high-risk cases.
