This week, the Women in Housing Awards took place in Manchester, where hundreds of people celebrated the work of women in the sector across 12 award categories.

Sophie Palmer, West Kent's Head of Home Ownership, was named runner-up for the ‘Professional of the Year’ award. This award recognises people who have delivered an outstanding contribution in the housing sector over the last 12 months. While not winning the award, being named runner-up is a great achievement. Sophie leads our home ownership team to deliver shared ownership sales, resales, staircasing, leasehold, right to buy and acquire sales. This challenging role has overseen the preparation of almost 1,000 new build homes for people across Kent.

Sophie said; “It is wonderful to have been nominated for this award, particularly when I was shortlisted with so many inspirational women in the sector. I am passionate about making the difference in our resident’s lives and driving excellent services day to day across my team, so this recognition is really special.”

It is great to see Sophie shortlisted among so many inspirational women in the sector. Well done again, Sophie!
