This month we're sharing how residents and colleagues came together to improve the communal garden at Kingswood Court, helping to create a brighter and more welcoming outdoor space for everyone to enjoy.
The volunteer day was supported by Community Chest funding, which helps residents and local groups bring ideas to life and strengthen their communities.
Working together
Tenants at Kingswood Court took part alongside colleagues in a volunteer day to help tidy and refresh the communal garden. Together, they cleared overgrown areas, prepared spaces for planting and made the garden a more attractive and enjoyable place for everyone who lives there.
A Community Chest grant helped fund the project, including new plants and bulbs for the garden. Some of the funding has already paid for improvements made during the volunteer day and the remaining budget will be used in spring to add more planting and continue improving the space.
Your voice, Our action in motion
We know that having attractive, well-maintained shared spaces can make a real difference to residents. Through Community Chest funding, we can support projects that bring people together and improve local communities.
