We have been recognised as Runner Up in the Best Housing Provider category at the prestigious Resolve ASB Awards.
The accolade highlights the organisation’s growing reputation for effective, compassionate, and partnership‑driven community safety work.
The award acknowledges the dedication of our community safety team and the wider organisation, whose collective efforts help keep residents and neighbourhoods safe.
Over the past 18 months, the team has delivered a series of impactful initiatives aimed at tackling anti-social behaviour (ASB), protecting social housing, and strengthening multi-agency collaboration. Daily briefings with Kent Police and local authority partners have transformed how we respond to community safety concerns. This joined‑up approach has enabled faster, more coordinated action and strengthened trust across agencies.
Working closely with Kent Police, we secured four Closure Orders to support communities experiencing persistent and harmful ASB. The team also obtained injunctions and possession orders against repeat offenders, helping restore safety and confidence for affected residents.
One resident’s feedback captured the impact of this work: “This is helping us start to believe that West Kent actually do what they say they are going to do.”
We have also continued our robust approach to tenancy fraud, recovering 13 homes over the past year. Each recovered property has been reallocated to a household in genuine need, reinforcing the organisation’s commitment to fairness and integrity in social housing.
Sean Richards, Community Safety Manager, said: “Being named Runner Up is a proud moment for everyone at West Kent. It reflects not just the hard work of the Community Safety Team, but the commitment of colleagues across the organisation who care deeply about our residents. This recognition motivates us to keep pushing forward, working together to build safer, stronger communities.”
While the award is a moment of celebration, we see it as a reminder of the importance of supporting strong, peaceful communities. We remain focused on delivering meaningful, lasting change for residents through persistence, empathy, and partnership working.
