Following the announcement in April that our CEO Tracy Allison was planning to retire we’re pleased to share that Ian Joynson has been appointed as the next Chief Executive of West Kent Housing Association, joining in early 2026.

Our Chair, Piers White MBE said: “Tracy has successfully led West Kent through some of the most turbulent times the sector has seen, whilst overseeing significant change that will ensure the long-term resilience of the organisation. Throughout her tenure we have maintained excellent customer satisfaction. Importantly we have significantly increased the impact from our communities offer, as well as the amount and pace of investment in our homes. We have also delivered the largest new homes programme in our history.

Ian joins us at an exciting time as we begin delivery of our new ambitious strategic plan to 2030. We look forward to welcoming Ian to West Kent in early 2026.”

Ian Joynson, next Chief Executive of West Kent Housing Association

Tracy Allison our CEO said: “Reflecting back on my time here I feel incredibly privileged to have played a role in West Kent’s success and to have worked with such highly regarded colleagues. I am very proud of what we have achieved together. I feel especially fortunate to work with an excellent board and with such a committed executive team. Looking forward I am confident of the continued success of West Kent. But for now, it’s very much ‘business as usual’.”

Ian joins West Kent from his current role as Chief Investment Officer at Platform Housing Group, where he has been responsible for over 50,000 homes. He previously spent a decade as an executive at The Guinness Partnership, and 14 years at KPMG LLP working with a wide range of housing associations and not-for-profit organisations. Ian brings not only deep sector experience but also a strong passion for people and communities.

Ian Joynson, newly appointed successor said: “I’m proud to be taking on the role of Chief Executive at West Kent. As someone who lives locally, I see the difference West Kent makes in communities every day. That personal connection makes this opportunity especially meaningful. West Kent has a strong reputation for delivering high-quality homes and services, and I am eager to build on that success and help shape its future."
