At West Kent we were deeply saddened to hear about the death of two-year-old Awaab Ishak in Rochdale. A coroner ruled that he tragically died after exposure to mould in his home over a prolonged period. Our thoughts remain with Awaab and his loved ones.

This case must never be repeated, and action needs to be taken across the sector. Please rest assured any reports of damp and mould at West Kent will be taken seriously. We are here to help and support you.

Our teams are working together to review policies and make changes in collaboration with residents to ensure they are robust, to standard, up to date and reflect your concerns and needs.

If you have any concerns around damp and mould in your property, please contact our customer services team, who would be happy to help. You can contact the team by calling 01732 749400 or emailing help@wkha.org.uk
