The scrutiny panel works collaboratively with teams across West Kent, meeting once a quarter to scrutinise our performance information, ask questions, and make suggestions for service improvements.

We offer our resident scrutiny panel a wide range of learning and development opportunities to support them to carry out their roles. Two of our scrutiny panel members, Linda and Cathy recently attended the Tpas National Tenants Conference. This annual conference is a chance to connect with other involved residents, explore new and innovative approaches to involvement, and to discuss all the latest housing news.

Cathy and Linda were joined by Luci from our resident involvement team. Linda and Cathy also had the opportunity to meet Jenny Osbourne, Chief Executive of Tpas. These opportunities link closely to our commitment to working with residents to help shape improved and inclusive services.

Emma Henry, Resident Involvement Manager at West Kent said; "We work really closely with Tpas, the tenant engagement experts, and value the fantastic work they do to highlight the importance of the voice of residents and the training opportunities they provide to empower and upskill residents. We’re also really lucky to have so many residents that get involved and help us improve. Linda and Cathy are integral members of our panel and have provided excellent feedback and been involved in a range of consultations. It is fantastic to be able to support them attend events like this."
