If you see items that may have been fly tipped, firstly check with your neighbours that the items don’t belong to them as they may have plans to get it removed.

• If you know the items are on West Kent land, please complete our online ASB reporting form (attached link) and attach a photo if possible. We will arrange to get the items removed but it could take up to 21 days.
• If the item is not on our land, please contact the local authority who will arrange to remove it. You can find out who your local authority is at https://www.gov.uk/find-local-council
• If you live in a neighbourhood managed by another agent or housing provider, you will need to contact that company.
• If you are unsure whether a piece of land or road belongs to or is managed by, please contact us and we will help.

If you are witnessing fly tipping happening right now, please try and get the registration plate or description of the person and report to Kent Police by calling 101.

Graffiti is a criminal offence and should be reported to Kent Police. However, the police will not remove it.

If you are witnessing graffiti happening right now, please try and get a description of the person and report to Kent Police by calling 101.

It is everyone’s responsibility to make sure their household waste is disposed of properly.

Please make sure you know what day your waste is collected on by visiting your local authority’s website. You can find out who your local authority is by visiting https://www.gov.uk/find-local-council.

• Please put your rubbish out by 7am on the day of collection, not the night before. Bags left out overnight will attract unwanted attention from animals such as foxes, rats and mice who will rip them open and make the area look unsightly.
• Make sure your bags are tied tightly so that no food waste can fall out. Rotting food will start to smell after a while, which will be unpleasant for you and your neighbours.
• If we provide a bin store for you to store your waste in, please make sure you put your bags in the bins provided and not on the floor. Do not store any bulky waste items in the bin store as it will not be taken by the refuse collectors. Please dispose of your bulky items correctly. Your local authorities website will be able to advise you.

If you are experiencing issues with the way your neighbour stores their rubbish and it is having an impact on your life, speak to them first as this could resolve the issue. If it continues you can contact your local Environmental Health department for advice. If you know the individual is a West Kent tenant, we will be able to help.
