Meet the scrutiny panel
The scrutiny panel works collaboratively with West Kent staff to support and develop services to customers. The panel works independently to research a specific topic in depth to see if there are areas of improvement. These improvements could result in money saved, services changed or training programmes introduced. Read more about our panel members below. If you're interested in joining the panel email residentinvolvement@wkha.org.uk

Jason
I'm Jason, I'm a Swanley resident, but I was born and brought up in Sevenoaks. I've worked for many different individuals and organisations all over the country as a problem solving crisis manager, trying to find a way through knotty problems for service improvement. The scrutiny panel seems like an excellent opportunity to exercise whatever skills I may possess to help West Kent and its tenants to an ever improving service.

I'm a versatile, results-driven professional with a wealth of financial expertise developed through many years experience in accounting and related fields. I am also experienced in working alongside multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders. I was interested in the scrutiny panel because it gives tenants an influencing role to scrutinise the services delivered to them, and that's really important.

Linda
I’ve worked in various sectors throughout my life such as housing and construction, finance and auditing. I’ve been a West Kent resident for 12 years, and soon after became an involved resident. Through resident involvement, and my previous employment, l have gained a lot of skills and experience that will be beneficial to the scrutiny panel.

Iain
I grew up and was educated in South Africa and moved to the UK in 2005 and I am proud to call the UK home. I've worked in several industries including mining (housing department), entertainment, engineering, building maintenance, and the hotel industry. I've been an involved resident for many years and wanted to join the scrutiny panel to better understand the inner workings of West Kent and see how I could help improve their services. It's important that residents get involved and make their voices heard so that West Kent can learn about unknown issues, hear how they directly impact their residents and leaseholders. It's not about looking for fault but finding the best way forward.

I am a retired nurse and midwife as well as having experience in administration. I love the fact that as a resident, I get an opportunity to be part of this panel and in so doing, learn more about what West Kent is all about. Also discussing issues that in some cases will affect fellow residents or West Kent itself. I am really looking forward to helping others through the work the scrutiny panel do.

Nicholas
I moved into a West Kent flat in September 2021. My interests include contemporary dance and volunteering in stewarding and marshalling roles. I participate in both these areas of interest with a steely professional approach. I am interested in the scrutiny panel to help develop and exercise my skills and confidence with the spoken word, and the possibility of portraying other tenants opinions and preferences.

Cathy
I've been a West Kent tenant for over twenty years and I'm happy here. It's good to accept a challenge every now and again so when I was successful in my application to join the scrutiny panel I accepted. I've worked in various situations with people from all walks of life. I'd like to help make a difference for all of us as residents.
