West Kent has been an enthusiastic supporter of apprenticeships for many years and has provided opportunities in customer services, housing management, marketing and other areas of the business.
An apprenticeship allows you to earn qualifications, get workplace experience and earn a wage – all at the same time. You receive on-the-job training in your chosen field and sometimes additional training from the apprenticeship provider.
Our vacancies are advertised on the apprenticeship providers' own websites and links to any current opportunities will be shown lower down this page. You must make your application through the provider and not to us direct.
From 1 April 2020, the national minimum wage for apprentices is £4.15 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. However, at West Kent we pay £6.36 per hour for level two apprentices and £8.09 per hour for level three apprentices. For all other apprentices the apprentice national minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The wage for apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent in training.
