The award highlights West Kent’s commitment to developing cyber security resilience over the last few years, which helps to provide excellent and more secure services to residents across Kent.

The ‘Best Cyber-Security Award’ entry showcased West Kent’s work in creating a culture of security, embedding learning from the Cyber Essentials certification and training provided through a range of new partnerships. This was achieved alongside introducing new security infrastructure and structured responsibilities, an overhaul of office and cloud environments, networks, and legacy systems. This was embedded through engaging with staff via a dynamic internal communications campaign.

Mark Lordon, Director of IT at West Kent said; “We are delighted to have been recognised at the Housing Technology Awards. We have been on a journey over the last 24 months to upgrade and strengthen systems, training colleagues and establishing better processes to improve our IT security and infrastructure. This has been a team effort across West Kent and a culture of cyber-security has been established and is benefitting the way our systems integrate and help colleagues carry out their day-to-day roles as well as the services we provide to our residents.”
