Oare Lakes is a beautiful new development in Faversham. New homes at Oare Lakes, Faversham

The homes were built on the former gravel works site and gunpowder factory that were closed during World War Two.

The 131-acre site has been transformed and is now home to a country park with a lake and an educational hub dedicated to the history of this heritage site. Over 300 new one, two, three and four-bedroom homes have also been built for shared ownership and affordable rent.

So far this year 25 families have moved into their new homes. Our property team has worked closely with all new residents to equip them with welcome packs as well as warranties and certificates. Moving home can be stressful and our goal is to make the process as seamless and stress free as possible.

Kate Flaherty, Property Development and Partnerships Director said:Three staff members on site checking new homes

Our team of experts inspect every new home before our residents move in, checking them for issues, repairs or adjustments. Over the past few years we have been actively pushing for a reduction in the number of defects.

By putting in place these rigorous inspection processes we now see less than one defect per new home, a massive improvement for West Kent and our new homeowners. It’s a great achievement and I’m really proud of everyone that’s worked so hard to make this happen.”
