As part of our 35 years of West Kent campaign, we’re showcasing the incredible people who make our work possible. Katie is one of our Community Development Officers and has been with us for two years.

A key part of Katie’s role is to help residents create a better sense of community by being a presence across different neighbourhoods. One of Katie’s responsibilities is to support residents through encouraging them to form groups, these include resident action, as well as social groups for activities such as crafting and gardening. Katie's work enables residents to come together, through a face-to-face approach, highlighting the importance of community within West Kent.

Katie adds that she has “Noticed a big difference in Swanley in the interaction with people and community groups that are coming together”.

Watch Katie’s video to find out more about the impact she has with our residents.
