Make a difference in your community.

Do you dream of making a difference? Do you love to think creatively, come up with ideas and solve real-world problems?

Then look no further. West Kent’s youth services team has a unique opportunity for all you aspiring writers, influencers, vloggers and world-changers, to use your creativity to make your community better.

We’re calling on you to bring us your best idea to make your local community a better place to live in. Whatever you come up with has to be realistic, because if you win we want to be able to make it happen in your local community.

Your idea will be scored on originality and how it benefits your local community. This benefit could be environmental, a social enterprise, or support for vulnerable people.

The five best ideas will be awarded £100 in vouchers, and will be given the opportunity to work with West Kent’s youth services team to further develop and test the project. This is your chance to make a difference in your local community.

To enter, just submit your essay (this can be either written or video), to communitydevelopment@wkha.org.uk by 18th December. You'll need to be aged 11 to 16 to enter.

West Kent Housing Association announces CEO successor

Following the announcement in April that our CEO Tracy Allison was planning to retire we’re pleased to share that Ian Joynson has been appointed as the next Chief Executive of West Kent Housing Association, joining in early 2026.
