Youth Extra members and other young people from the Wellfield community established a Youth Forum in Hartley in November 2007 with £3,000 from the KCC Youth Opportunities Fund.

The group organise and use their grant to subsidise the cost of activities which have included paintballing against the police and PCSO’s!,  attended a snowboarding course at the Chatham Ski and Snowboarding Centre and trips to Thorpe Park.  The Youth Forum is currently trying to get more young people involved and in particular those in the 12-15 year age range. One of the Hartley Youth forum members recently won two’ Kent Young Persons Respect awards’, the Sheriffs Award for Leadership and Overall Kent winner too.
