Following the great success of the Swanley 8-12s Project, West Kent Extra and Sevenoaks District Council established New Ash Green 8-12s Project in February 2007. Twenty children attend each week.

The project provides active ‘hands on’ support and opportunities for local children, offering activities that are creative, skilful, educational and fun. It offers one club session each week, and regular trips and outings.

Activities have included jewellery making, cooking and map reading. The group have visited the theatre, enjoyed an activity day at Halls Green, hosted a visit from the local PCSO and written and performed a Play in a Day.

Children are encouraged to support one another and to adhere to their own 'Charter of Rights'. Children are also encouraged to achieve by building on their self-esteem and self-confidence. Bullying and aggression are never tolerated and the project operates a red and yellow card system for inappropriate behaviour.
