The Linda Hogan Community Fund

We will fund:

Groups/organisations who provide or will provide, services to residents living in areas across Kent.

• New groups and organisations to get off the ground
• Existing groups to start up and/or expand their services and activities
• Groups and organisations working with  ‘hard to reach’ groups.

 

Our priorities are:

• Groups that are led/managed by local people and community champions
• Projects that encourage local people to get involved
• Services and activities that help West Kent Extra realise its key aims. 

 

Our aims for 2010 include:

• Services and activities that help to prevent debt, provide financial advice and reduce poverty
• Projects that support and encourage volunteering
• Activities and services for older people
• Activities and services for young people and children.
• Activities that promote community engagement and cohesion.

 

What we do not fund

• Services that are the main responsibility of local authority, council, education and other statutory agencies
• Projects that may create friction in communities or set one group of people against another
• Projects that overlap with, or repeat, what others are doing for your neighbourhood
• Individuals.

 

We are inviting applications to three rounds in 2010 and the deadline dates for receipt of applications are 15 March, 15 June and 15 October.  Meetings of the Project Appraisal Group will be held shortly after these dates and applicants will be notified of their decision.

Applications submitted to the March round can be for a maximum of £250.  Applications to the June and October rounds can be for a maximum of £500.  Applications may be made to more than one round but cannot be awarded more than £500 in one calendar year.
