How can you get involved?

One quarter of the Board of Management for West Kent Housing Association, are tenants.

West Kent needs you!

West Kent is currently recruiting for new tenant board members to help govern and shape the future of the housing services we deliver.

Anyone can apply to be a board member - you don't need to have any special skills or qualifications but you should be able to discuss issues relating to housing and voice your opinions on the things that matter to you. image of lady
In these times of uncertainty, it is even more important for us to have a wide cross-section of the communities we serve on our board to make sure we are hearing the views of everyone. Some of our tenants will be more affected by the current climate than others and it is those views we want to hear at the very highest level.
If you, or someone you know is a tenant or resident, interested in community and housing issues and would like to offer their services to one of the most successful housing associations in the country then we want to hear from you. Visit the board member pages here or contact Emma Holdsworth on 01732 749459

Tenants Consultative Committee (TCC)

There are North and South Area Committees that are made up of Tenant and Leaseholder Representatives and members of the local community The area committees meet a minimum of five times per year and deal with issues affecting people, homes and communities.

Five members from the North Area and five members from the South Area form the Executive Committee.  The purpose of this group is to reflect the opinions of the area committees and make decisions on the policies and strategies that affect the landlord services provided by West Kent.  Senior staff from West Kent also attend the Executive Committee meetings.

Tenant Representatives

The West Kent district has been divided into a number of areas, tenants from these areas can elect representatives to the AWKTR area committees.

The nominated person will attend regular AWKTR meetings to raise issues that affect their area and promote ideas for improvements. They will also have opportunities to meet with staff from West Kent to discuss any problems and take part in regular estate walkabouts.
