Welcome to West Kent Extra

West Kent Extra (WKE) is a community charity with one simple aim – to make life better for people in the neighbourhoods it serves.  Set up in December 2003, WKE has taken on the community development work of West Kent Housing Association (WK) and services previously delivered by the Association of West Kent Tenants and Residents (AWKTR).   WKE does not deal exclusively with WK tenants – far from it. Working closely with both WK and AWKTR we work with whole neighbourhoods, delivering services which make life better for a whole range of groups and individuals in need of help and support.

Our mission is clear:

'To build and support strong, cohesive and inclusive neighbourhoods in west Kent and beyond'

This reflects the 'iN Business for Neighbourhoods' programme launched by the National Housing Federation in 2003, in order 'to create inclusive, thriving neighbourhoods through improved homes and services.'
