Find a Home

West Kent aims to provide good quality affordable housing. We offer a wide New homes in Kemsingrange of housing in an effort to meet individual people’s needs. Our homes include bungalows, flats and houses.

To register on the Sevenoaks District Housing Register please visit our publications page and download the forms. Alternatively call our Housing Options team on: 01732 749433.

We also offer sheltered, key worker and Homebuy housing.

Sheltered housing

One bedroom flats or bungalows where over 55’s can continue to live an independent life with added support. A sheltered housing assistant calls twice a week and the homes are linked to a 24 hour call centre for extra peace of mind. In some cases the schemes will have a laundry and communal lounges.

We also have a purpose built scheme in Swanley and in Sevenoaks, which provide the added security of a 24 hour on site sheltered housing assistant as well as providing meals if necessary.

Key worker housing

We have six 2 bedroom flats in Swanley at ‘sub market’ rents for people in key local jobs.

For information on the key worker criteria, please contact the Housing Options Team on 01732 749433.

Homebuy

This is a scheme designed for those people who cannot afford to buy a property outright. Homebuy enables you to buy a share of the property up to 75 per cent while renting the remaining percentage you do not own. You can increase the percentage you own over a period of time.

For more information on Homebuy, please contact our Homebuy Portfolio Manager on 01732 749400.

How to apply

Kent Homechoice

In Autumn 2008, West Kent Housing Association in partnership with Sevenoaks District Council, introduced the Kent Homechoice Choice Based Lettings scheme.

Choice Based Lettings is an interactive way for letting of housing association and registered social landlord properties, giving applicants more choice about where they live. For more information about Kent Homechoice visit Sevenoaks - Finding a place to live

Probationary Tenancy

A probationary tenancy is given to new tenants for a ‘trial’ period of 12 months.   During this period we will help you understand and keep to the conditions of your tenancy agreement.

If you do not meet the conditions of your tenancy during this trial period then we may ask the Court for permission to evict you.

At the end of the 12 months, provided we have not taken steps to end your tenancy, it will become an assured tenancy. Alternatively we could decide to extend the initial 12-month trial period, in which case your tenancy will remain a probationary tenancy for as long as the extension lasts.

Probationary tenancies do not apply to tenants in Older Persons' housing.
