We ran a successful series of responsible dog owner roadshows ahead of micro-chipping becoming a legal requirement in 2016, and when we took a break last year we found the number of complaints about animal nuisance rose. This showed the earlier roadshows had had a positive effect, and so we decided to bring them back across Sevenoaks and Swanley, working alongside Sevenoaks District Council.
We will be holding a roadshow in a different location on the last Friday of every month from 10am to 1pm, with the district council’s community bus in attendance.
Our Community Safety Officer Mandie Stallard and Sevenoaks District Council’s Animal Control Officer Ann-Marie Milton will be offering advice on a wide range of dog-related issues, while the Dogs Trust will again be offering free micro-chipping for anyone who has yet to comply with the rule.
As well as plenty of advice on health, well-being and behaviour, there will be free dog poo bags available and while the focus will be on dog health and well-being, we will also be happy to talk to tenants about other more general issues.
