If you want to move to another property or area you could do a mutual exchange with another tenant.
There are two websites where you can register your home for an exchange; the national Homeswapper site and also Kent Homechoice Mutual Exchange site - see Related websites.
Your Neighbourhood Housing Officer can provide you with more information and guide you through the process. You will need to make sure that your home is in good order and complete any work that needs doing, also that your rent account and service charges are up to date.
With mutual exchanges, you accept the other tenant's property as it is, which includes taking on responsibility for any damage caused to the premises by any previous occupiers.
Occasionally we will withhold permission if the property is not suitable or if you have a probationary or assured shorthold tenancy but we will always let you know if this is the case as soon as we can.
