Home starter packs

For those people who have experienced desperate circumstances such as homelessness or fleeing domestic abuse, having a new home is an amazing thing.

It can be difficult to set up a home from scratch at short notice, especially when money is tight. This exciting project aims to help. We are running a project in Medway with the Medway Lifeways team to work with local businesses and our Abacus Furniture Project to make up and provide Starter Packs for those most in need.

The packs are made up of good quality second hand or new essential household items such as cutlery, crockery and bed linen. As well as the physical items we provide an assortment of information leaflets that give details of many local services and activities.

We have widened the scope of the project and now will accept referrals from any agency working with vulnerable clients in Medway who are moving into permanent accommodation. If you are an agency who think your clients could benefit from this project please read the related documents and get in contact if you have any questions.

We would be very interested to hear from anyone who might want to get involved in this project or support us by donating useful items or volunteering.
