Resident board members play a vital part in shaping the strategic direction of West Kent and West Kent Extra.

Anyone can apply to be a board member; you don’t need to have any special skills or qualifications. You do need to able to talk about issues relating to housing and be confident to voice your opinion.

The role of resident board member is different to other resident involvement in that board members must work for the best interests of the organisation, rather than representing a group of residents.

It is possible to serve as both a tenant representative and a resident board member but you must remember to wear the right hat at the right time!
